Sandals resorts and honeymoons go hand and hand. While you really cannot go wrong when choosing a Sandals resort, you want to make the perfect choice when it comes to your honeymoon. What we have learned is that what is right for one person may not be so great for someone else.
In this article, we share our opinions of which is the best Sandals resort for a honeymoon but also break it down to help you decide based on your own preferences. (FYI, if you are looking to bring the family along, Beaches Resorts may be a better match for you.)

Resort Highlights: Sandals Royal Plantation is perfect for honeymoons because it is an all-butler, all-suite resort. With just 74 ocean-view suites, this resort is a quiet getaway where you can relax by the pool with libations brought to you by the beach butler, or take advantage of the nearby Upton Estate Golf & Country Club, where transportation and green fees are included in your stay. You can also enjoy Jamaica’s only champagne and caviar bar.
When we stayed at Sandals Royal Plantation we found it perfect for relaxing and the best beach experience at a Sandals Resort. The server at the beach promptly brought us drinks at 10am when they opened and made sure we had any food or drinks we wanted all day long. The water was also very nice with a few floats and never felt crowded.
If you still want more, a stay at Sandals Royal Plantation provides complimentary exchange privileges to Sandals Ochi, which has an additional 16 restaurants. Many people enjoy taking advantage of the amenities at both locations on their honeymoon.

Resort Highlights: Sandals Dunn’s River is the newest Sandals resort in Jamaica and represents the “Sandals 2.0” standard, which elevates the entire experience to be even more luxurious and wonderful.
This is our new favorite Sandals in Jamaica, and one of our top choices overall. We loved the beautiful setting, unique new suite styles, cool pools, amazing spa, and fantastic food and drink. Most of the restaurants are new to the Sandals brand, and the food quality is outstanding. There is also a great new coffee shop and really fun bars that feature craft cocktails.
Sandals Dunn’s River has 12 restaurants, 9 bars including the Rum Club, 5 pools and 2 river pools, and transportation to and green fees at the Upton Estate Golf & Country Club in addition to a wide range of complimentary watersports and land activities. This is one of the few Sandals resorts with motorized watersports like waterskiing.
It’s also close to popular natural attractions like Dunn’s River Falls and the Blue Hole.
Best Honeymoon Suite at Sandals Dunn’s River: Our picks are the Tufa Terrace One-Bedroom Skypool Butler Suite, with an elevated infinity pool and great views, and the new-to-Sandals Coyaba Sky Rondovals, with private plunge pools and swim-up access to a river pool plus a furnished rooftop deck.

Resort Highlights: Sandals Grenada Resort is the place to go if you want to relax on your honeymoon, with the option of adding in plenty of activities. Located in the heart of Grenada’s exclusive Pink Gin Beach, here you can enjoy a truly romantic and exotic Caribbean experience.
We loved that the resort was close to the airport (just 5 minutes!) and easy to get around. Almost all of the rooms have something unique, either a private pool, shared pool, or ocean view.
Personalized butler service is available in 69 suites, which include Swim Up Pool Suites, Rondovals, and Skypool Suites. In the Italian Village (one of four villages available), you can enjoy romantic Tranquility Soaking Tubs.
There are 10 restaurants to choose from, including a world-class steakhouse. One of the highlights for us was going to Spices each morning for breakfast which was a buffet with a chef cooking eggs, omelets, and a unique dish each day to order. We would visit Cafe de Paris regularly for lattes and loved Soy, the sushi restaurant.

Resort Highlights: If you’re dreaming of over-the-water bungalows, Sandals Grande St. Lucian has your name on it. This resort is often described as “the closest vacation to a picture-perfect postcard.” With 12 restaurants at this resort and 16 at the other two Sandals resorts on the island, you’ll never run out of dishes to try during your honeymoon.
Staying at Sandals Grande St. Lucian provides you access to Sandals St. Lucia Golf & Country Club at Cap Estate, with complimentary transfer and green fees included. You also get free transportation to Sandals Halcyon Beach and Sandals Regency La Toc to enjoy their amenities, restaurants, and bars.
We enjoyed the beach at Sandals Grande St Lucian. It is calm and quiet at the different ends of the resort, with a more lively environment in the middle close to the pool. We also enjoyed how calm and clear the water was. This is one of the few resorts where the water is calm enough to enjoy motorized water sports like wakeboarding or water skiing.
Best Honeymoon Suite at Sandals Grande St Lucian: The Overwater Bungalows are the best options, but let’s be honest, very few can afford them and there are only a few available. Another great option is the Grande Rondoval Butler Suite with Private Pool Sanctuary.

Resort Highlights: The newest Sandals resort, Sandals St. Vincent is a honeymooner’s dream with its secluded and lush location, tucked between forested hills and a pristine white-sand beach. Also part of the “Sandals 2.0” initiative, this resort offers many new restaurant and bar concepts as well as unique accommodations including the only two-story overwater villas that Sandals has. Something cool is that all butler-level suites come with airport transfers via boat!
We absolutely loved the serene setting, which felt unspoiled and peaceful. We also loved the food and found the service to be especially warm and welcoming.
There are 12 restaurants, 9 bars, 4 pools, a scuba pool, 2 whirlpools, and a full range of complimentary watersports and land activities. This is also one of the Sandals resorts with an Overwater Wedding Chapel, if you want to get married here.
Best Honeymoon Suite at Sandals St. Vincent: Choose from the Vincy Two-Story Overwater Butler Villa or the Beachfront Butler Villa Suite with private pool for the ultimate luxury and romance.

Resort Highlights: Located on Jamaica’s famous Seven Mile Beach, you’ll love the beautiful white sand and aquamarine water at Sandals Negril. Lounge under a palm tree, or go scuba diving, snorkeling, sailboating, wakeboarding, or any of the other included water activities on site. Some suites include a private pool or a swim-up lagoon so you never have to get out of the water if you don’t want to.
What makes Sandals Negril unique is its prime location on the beach, allowing for more rooms and suites to be oceanview or oceanfront with nightly views of the amazing sunset.
Many restaurants are on the beach as well, and we loved eating breakfast with our toes in the sand. This is a great spot for laidback honeymoons that are all about the beach.
Best Honeymoon Suite at Sandals Negril: We loved the Swim-up Crystal Lagoon Beachfront One Bedroom Butler Suite since your patio goes directly into the pool and on the other side of the pool is the beach. But our favorites are the new Bamboo Grove Skypool Butler Suites, which have huge private balconies with elevated infinity pools–we never wanted to leave!
7. Sandals Royal Barbados

Resort Highlights: Sandals Royal Barbados is located next door to Sandals Barbados and it actually feels like the same resort, just newer. You have access to all the same restaurants, bars, pools and activities. The only difference is the location of the rooms and the accommodations you choose.
The resort is situated on Maxwell Beach where there is natural shade to relax in and clear blue water to enjoy. Sandals Royal Barbados has the largest glass-fronted infinity pool in the Eastern Caribbean.
All rooms are either club or butler-level suites which means they all have room service. This may be the best Sandals resort for health and wellness since it has the first health and wellness-inspired restaurant concepts. It also has the first rooftop restaurant, rooftop bar, and rooftop pool.
Best Honeymoon Suite at Sandals Royal Barbados: The Beachfront One Bedroom Skypool Butler Suite w/ Balcony Tranquility Soaking Tub is a pretty amazing suite.
8. Sandals Regency La Toc

Resort Highlights: Sandals Regency La Toc covers 210 hillside acres overlooking the sea on the southern shore of Castries Bay. The resort has a stunning half-mile beach, 3 magnificent freshwater pools, 3 whirlpools, and 1 dive pool.
As with other Sandals Resorts in St Lucia you can take advantage of the “Stay at One, Play at Three” program. There is a complimentary shuttle and exchange privileges with Sandals Grande St. Lucian and Sandals Halcyon Beach, offering a total of 27 restaurant options. You also get transportation to and green fees at the Cap Estate Golf & Country Club.
Best Honeymoon Suite at Sandals Regency La Toc: The Sunset Oceanview Bluff Millionaire Butler Villa with Private Pool Sanctuary is a great option. You get your own private pool overlooking the ocean and a butler, plus car service to take you to the rest of the resort when you want to leave your villa.

Resort Highlights: Sandals Royal Caribbean is located just a short drive from the airport. The resort has recently remodeled and rebuilt some of the rooms so even most of the cheapest rooms feel new. It has a laidback feel, but if you want a more lively atmosphere, you also have access to the nearby Sandals Montego Bay.
One of the key features is the private island where there are two beaches, a quiet pool with a swim-up bar, a Jerk Shack for lunch, and a Thai restaurant for dinner. This is also where the romantic overwater bungalows are located.
When you stay at Sandals Royal Caribbean you get a great variety of food. One of our favorites of all Sandals restaurants is the Thai restaurant on the private island, and we love the Indian restaurant as well. When we dined at these restaurants, the servers encouraged us to try as much as we wanted, and it was a perfect foodie experience.

Resort Highlights: Sandals Grande Antigua has won the award for the Caribbean’s Most Romantic Resort by the World Travel Awards multiple times and even won the Most Romantic Resort in the World in the past.
Located on Dickenson Bay, Antigua’s most famous beach, Sandals Grande Antigua offers two unique vibes for honeymooners. On one side of the resort is the Caribbean Beachfront Village with calm crystal clear water, perfect for water sports, plus private daybed set-ups perfect for romance. Accommodations include romantic suites with private plunge pools surrounded by tropical gardens.
On the other side is a 5-star all-suite ocean-view village with amazing 180-degree views. Private villas are also available with a butler service. Enjoy 11 different restaurants and 7 bars, giving you plenty of variety during your honeymoon.
Sandals Grande Antigua can feel a bit outdated, but that contributes to why it is so affordable. Keep in mind the beach is a public beach so you can expect vendors to come by regularly.

Best Sandals Chapel
Are you planning a destination wedding or a quick trip to elope? We took a look to see which Sandals have the best chapel to help you choose if you plan to stay at the same resort for your honeymoon.
The best Sandals Resort chapels are the over-the-water chapels are at Sandals South Coast, Sandals Montego Bay, and Sandals Ochi in Jamaica; Sandals St. Vincent; Sandals Grande St. Lucian; and Sandals Royal Bahamian.
There is also a traditional chapel, perfect for Catholic weddings, at Sandals Montego Bay.
Something to note about the locations in Jamaica and St, Lucia is that there are other Sandals resorts on the same island. That way you can stay at one resort and have your wedding ceremony, then go to another resort on the island for your honeymoon. They also have a variety of price points in the rooms available that allow guest some options based on their budgets.
Every Sandals resort offers beautiful beaches for that perfect tropical beach wedding, plus a variety of other venues like garden gazebos and oceanfront gazebos. Sandals Royal Curacao offers a golf course setting, Sandals Royal Barbados and Barbados offer the Sky Terrace, and Sandals St. Vincent offers the Riverside Pavilion.

The resorts are a little more affordable than other locations and you are likely going to save money on your flights. Here are three of the most affordable Sandals Resorts for your honeymoon.
Sandals Ochi – Currently starting at $199 per night per person
Sandals Ochi is the cheapest Sandals Resort and is perfect for a honeymoon at Sandals on a budget. Starting at $199, the Great House Luxury room provides easy access to the resort’s best restaurants, bars, and amenities. Each room includes a personal balcony and a well-appointed en-suite bathroom. You’ll also find Robert Mondavi wines and a refrigerator stocked with bottled water, juice, soda, and local beer.

Sandals Resorts have been providing amazing accommodations and vacation experiences for decades, but more recently they have brought the iconic overwater bungalows of the Maldives and French Polynesia to the Caribbean. Located in Jamaica, Saint Lucia, and St. Vincent & the Grenadines, these overwater bungalows provide an amazing experience for guests.
